I caught a leprechaun and it promised me to tell me the way
To a hidden golden treasure waiting in a secret cave behind a waterfall
I got too excited... Might have forgotten his warning...
Cause behind the turn the river washed me away. Far away.
There was a time when I was feeling so cocky
The river brought me down on my knees
But if the only thing I ever lost was money it's alright, then it's alright

How foolish I've been

Cause in the end I'm just fine...
But everybody deserves to feel a little pissed at some time

Well, I didn't get wiser. Thought I was still going strong.
Never did imagine it would happen to me twice in a short period of time
Ooh, I wasn't careful enough. Lost all that I had accomplished.
Maybe that was the best thing ever happened to me. Happened to me.
